I assume Mike Royer must have inked this for the published version using a light box.Looking at the close-up you can see even in the 80s Jack still was producing very detailed illustrations with plenty of great contrast. Nice example of how Jack would write his text on the actual illustrations instead of typing out a script.
Note the caption: the woman in the car flying off a cliff is saying, "Don't you dare try to rescue me." Not sure what on earth she might be thinking, but that's the magic of a compelling comic book cover caption.Doing some quick internet research, it appears that cover may have been rejected, or for some reason Jack did another version. This was the actual published cover of Silver Star # 3.
